How It Works:
Our Clinical Process.

Step 1: Book Without Barriers

No GP referral required. No waitlist. No administrative friction when you are already running on empty. Choose your appointment type, select a time that fits your life, and book directly online. Fees are transparent upfront. Your card is processed after your appointment, not before.

Step 1: Effortless Entry

The traditional path to specialist care often involves months of waiting and the hurdle of obtaining a GP referral. We believe that when you are already struggling with executive dysfunction or burnout, the last thing you need is more administrative friction.

Our process begins with Simple Online Booking. No referral is required, fees are transparent, and you choose the time that fits your life.

Step 2: Arrive Already Heard

Once your appointment is confirmed, you will receive a secure consultation link and any relevant pre-appointment paperwork, ADHD screening tools, symptom trackers, or health history forms depending on your reason for booking. Completing these beforehand means your consultation time is spent on you, not on paperwork. Rachel arrives already informed. You arrive already prepared.

Step 3: The Integrated Consultation

This is the heart of the Health Smitten experience. Appointments are 40 to 60 minutes, unhurried, thorough and designed to look at the intersections that standard appointments miss. Hormonal health. Neurological health. Emotional health. Not in isolation. Together. Because for most adults presenting with burnout, ADHD, perimenopause or weight concerns, these are never separate conversations.

Phone or video. No camera required. Australia-wide.

Step 4: Leave With Clarity and a Plan

A consultation is only as useful as what comes out of it. You leave with a written summary in plain English, a clear treatment plan where clinically appropriate, digital prescriptions, pathology and imaging requests where needed, specialist referral letters, and 14 days of direct email access to Rachel after your appointment. No disappearing into the system. No wondering what happens next.

The Nurse Practitioner Difference: A Holistic Philosophy

In Australia, becoming a Nurse Practitioner requires a Bachelor of Nursing, a Graduate Diploma and a Master of Nurse Practitioner, the highest level of clinical nursing qualification in the country, built on many years of advanced clinical practice. A Nurse Practitioner can assess, diagnose, prescribe, request pathology and imaging, and make specialist referrals.

What makes the NP model different is the philosophy. Nursing is inherently holistic. Rachel does not see a condition to be managed. She sees a person whose life is being affected by clinical factors that deserve a thorough, unhurried and integrated response. You are an active participant in your own care. Every decision is made with you, not for you.

Why we look at the whole picture.

Healthcare is frequently siloed. One clinician for your mental health. Another for your hormones. Another for your weight. But your body does not work in silos, and neither does what you are experiencing.

At Health Smitten, we specialise in the intersections:

    • Masking and burnout: The cognitive load of masking undiagnosed ADHD across decades produces a specific and profound kind of exhaustion. We know what that looks like.
    • The estrogen connection: Estrogen is a key regulator of dopamine. When it fluctuates in perimenopause, ADHD symptoms that were once manageable can become overwhelming. This is not a coincidence — it is neurobiology.
    • Weight and hormonal health: Declining estrogen shifts fat distribution. Cortisol drives cravings. Insulin sensitivity changes. Weight in midlife is a hormonal and neurological picture, not a discipline problem.

    Healthcare That Finally Sees You

Whether you are in a metropolitan centre or a remote rural town, you have access to the same thorough, unhurried clinical care from wherever you are. Health Smitten exists for the adults who have been told everything is normal while knowing it isn’t, and who are ready for someone to actually look.

Health Smitten is not an Emergency, Urgent Care or Crisis service.

In these instances, please call 000, Lifeline 131 114 or Emergency Mental Health 131 465.
