WHY ISNT THIS MEDICARE REBATED?
Medicare funds episodic GP consultations. It does not fund a 60-minute integrated assessment covering hormonal, neurological and emotional health together, led by a specialist Nurse Practitioner qualified to assess, diagnose and treat in one appointment.
A standard specialist consultation in Australia starts at $300–$500 with limited Medicare rebate and rarely includes a written summary, treatment plan and follow-up access. A GP appointment with a rebate typically means a referral and another wait.
